Machine Tools Africa: From The Organizers

Mike Lee and Gary Corin catch up with us at Machine Tools Africa 2024

After a seven-year hiatus, the Machine Tools Africa exhibition returned in a blaze of glory, showcasing the latest advancements poised to reshape the manufacturing landscape. “We haven’t had an exhibition in seven years, and it’s critical that we show the latest technology,” emphasized Mike Lee, Chairman of the Machine Tool Association.

The event, held from May 21st to 24th in Johannesburg, South Africa, lived up to its billing. Industry leaders, including Lee, and Gary Corin, Managing Director of Specialised Exhibitions, were on hand to discuss the event’s significance.

Visitors were treated to a dazzling array of high-powered machines, alongside advancements in robotics and a surprising abundance of laser technology.

The roar of the machines was punctuated by the World Skills competition, where Julian Gelo of Germany competed amongst his South African counterparts, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

We’d like to express our thanks to Specialized Exhibitions and Machine Tools Association for the opportunity to speak with you.
